Hair Care
Detangle Before Washing
Always detangle your hair before washing using a wide-toothed comb or detangling wig brush. Cleanse your extensions thoroughly, as product build-up is unacceptable. Co-wash with conditioner, and gently wash your wig or bundles with sulfate-free shampoo to preserve moisture and shine.
Deep Conditioning Is Essential
Deep conditioning is crucial, especially for curly hair. It aids in detangling, enhances curl definition, and replenishes moisture lost from clarifying shampoos to avoid frizz and tangling.
Mastering the Drying Process
When it comes to drying your weave, thoroughness is key. While a wash-and-go style might seem appealing, it is far better to prioritize adequate drying. I recommend sitting under a dryer for at least one to two hours to ensure complete dryness, including the braids. This step is vital; damp braids can lead to undesirable mildew odours and potential moulding that damage your hair. Allowing bundles that remain uninstalled to air dry will yield excellent results.
Product Use
Less is more with products. Avoid oversaturating your hair to prevent greasiness and build-up. Use carefully selected products for optimal extension care.
Avoid Excessive Heat
Although Crown Vault wigs and bundles are heat-friendly, it's best to avoid excessive heat styling to maintain the integrity of the hair and always use a heat protectant on hair.
Protect Your Hair at Night
Use a satin scarf and bonnet to retain moisture overnight and keep your hair soft and silky.
Proper Storage
Store your wigs on a mannequin or wig stand to preserve their shape and prevent tangling.
